Synopsis

The next book is Fate Coin. In this story, everyone says Chi Yindong, the eldest miss of the Chi family, has an overwhelmingly glamorous and icy face. Because she is cold and untouchable, countless admirers retreat. Ji Nianqing thinks that is nonsense. In her view, Chi Yindong is no lofty beauty at all, but a scheming green-tea thief who steals what belongs to others. Ji Nianqing has hated Chi Yindong for years, seeing her so-called cool personality as pure affectation. The bad history goes back to childhood. Chi Yindong secretly fought Ji Nianqing for food and attention while acting like a perfect obedient girl in front of adults. In high school she turned into a top student and crushed Ji Nianqing with first place rankings. Then, in college, she even started stealing girls Ji Nianqing liked, publicly taking them into her arms more than once. The two seemed to compete in secret, and Ji Nianqing lost every time, so she drew countless red X marks over Chi Yindong in her mind and treated her as an enemy. Then one day a thunderbolt of bad news arrives: Ji Nianqing's marriage partner is actually Chi Yindong. As the pampered little princess of the Ji family, Ji Nianqing cries, throws tantrums, and threatens death to refuse the marriage. She swears that if she ever liked a calculating, pretentious woman like Chi Yindong, then she would be a dog. Human nature, however, is all about eating one's own words. After a year of cohabitation, Ji Nianqing hides under the blanket regretting how rash and arrogant she used to be, and eventually lets out a tearful "Woof!" Reading guide: this is a cohabitation story set in a world where same-sex marriage is legal. It is HE, mutual attack, sweet, light, and updates daily after V. Readers are asked not to project it onto real life and can simply click away if they dislike it. The synopsis also promotes the time-travel next book Fate Coin, in which Duan Yinxi will never forget the day Lin An left home. They kissed for a long time by the doorway, and Lin An said she would come home early that night because they had agreed to celebrate their fifth anniversary. That same afternoon, Duan Yinxi received the terrible news of Lin An's death. According to the news, the doctor had been stabbed through the chest with a fruit knife and died from blood loss on the spot. On the first anniversary of Lin An's death, Duan Yinxi gets drunk in front of the grave with lilies and wine, falls asleep in the rain, and when she opens her eyes she has somehow arrived at Lin An's eighteenth year. At Lin An's father's funeral, everyone treats Lin An like unwanted baggage and no one is willing to take her in. Duan Yinxi appears and asks whether Lin An wants to come with her. Other people gossip that Duan Yinxi must be Lin An's father's lover, or why else would she kindly want to raise her? Only Lin An knows that such a young and beautiful woman could never have been interested in her poor father. That evening they drag their heavy suitcases onto a filthy bus and leave for an unknown place. On one long and weary night, curled together on a small bed, Lin An asks why Duan Yinxi treats her so well. Duan Yinxi thinks for a long time and answers, "Because I want to." Lin An asks if she really was her father's lover. Duan Yinxi smiles and tells her to guess. Lin An says she guesses not, but Duan Yinxi never explains, so her identity remains a mystery. Lin An once said that when she was seventeen her father died, all her relatives abandoned her, and she endured work and bullying before finally getting into medical school and becoming a doctor. After being reborn, Duan Yinxi goes to the town where seventeen-year-old Lin An lives and takes her away from that horrible place, because she refuses to let her suffer so much and only wants her to grow up happily and healthily. Lin An also once said she hated birthdays because cake was an expensive burden and spending the day alone was lonely. After rebirth, Duan Yinxi buys the prettiest cake for Lin An's eighteenth birthday, blows out the candles with her, and makes a wish together. Many years later, Lin An stands before Duan Yinxi and says she does not know how Duan Yinxi entered her life, but her appearance was a gift bestowed from heaven. Duan Yinxi wants to say that being able to come to Lin An's eighteenth year was the real gift to her. In a little extra scene, Lin An asks whether Duan-jie has someone she likes. Duan Yinxi says yes. A year later Lin An asks again and gets the answer that she still likes that person. Two years later, before Lin An can finish asking again, Duan Yinxi tells her to stop asking because it is annoying. That night Lin An hides under the blanket and cries, asking why Duan Yinxi can love someone else for so long and why that person cannot be her. Duan Yinxi pats her and tells her not to cry and to get up and be good. Reading guide: this is a two-way romance with both sweetness and angst, but overall it leans sweet and healing. It features rebirth and first love for both sides. There are too many elements to summarize properly, but it should be good, so readers are welcome to follow.
