Synopsis

Li Wujou was about to die. She opened her eyes with difficulty to a hall of red lanterns and a cold, haunted atmosphere. When she turned, she saw a woman in red beside her, black hair, snow-white skin, and eyes as cold as stone, like a bride from the old stories. It was Sito Qing, the former fiancée of the crown prince and the uncle line’s promised bride. To save her, this woman followed the Empress Dowager’s command and brought her back to life. Wujou, not wanting to be a burden, whispered weakly: “I am going to die. Before I die, split the prince’s silver with you and remarry. ” Yet Sito Qing touched Wujou’s hand, lowered her eyes, and with trembling lashes said, “As long as I am here, His Highness will not die. ” Wujou shivered. Colder than the dead. ---- From then on, Li Wujou gained a “shadow princess. ” Wujou had to sleep hugging her, had to eat beside her, and even when Wujou went into the fields Sito Qing squatted by the ridgeline and watched. That cold gaze clung to the vein at the back of Wujou’s neck, like a beast stalking prey. At night, when the other body pressed close, Wujou shook from the cold and could barely speak. “Are you a snow demon? ” Sito Qing held her waist and stared at that vein, then bit down on her own emerging fang: “…Mm. ” Wujou dared not answer, afraid that if she opened her mouth she would devour the woman before her. ---- Yes, she wants to eat Li Wujou. After living seventeen hundred years, this was the first time she had ever had such a thought. She had planned to break her open the first wedding night, but the hand that came into her palm was so hot, hotter than she had ever known, and it gave her clear, sharp pain. In that instant Sito Qing briefly returned to the human world. She looked down and decided to keep her alive. ---- Later, when red candles burned out and curtains dropped, Li Wujou sweated heavily and looked down at the one beneath her. Sito Qing trembled, pale-faced, shoulders rigid, knuckles white from gripping tightly. Li Wujou stopped moving and touched the wet temple. “Are you unwell? ” Sito Qing opened her eyes. Those usually cold eyes were like melting ice, shimmering with water, yet burning with burning fire. She pulled Wujou to herself and whispered, “Do not stop. ” And entered a worldly hell for the human. This thousand-and-seven-hundred-year-old cold body now burned fiercely in joy. Each inch of skin felt like it was being licked by flame; each touch brought a searing pain. In the end, Wujou lived again. ---- Wrote a monster bride and a lazy king who loves farming. A rustic cultivation story with eerie elements. Sweet and very sweet. The lazy king and his dangerous bride.
